Help us test our new free antispam product for blogging!

Hi everyone,

As a way to celebrate the launch of Safer Surfing, we’re offering you guys to be amongst the very first in the UK to test run BitDefender’s new antispam program for Wordpress bloggers.

We want to know your opinions on how it works for you, what’s good and whether there’s anything we need to improve.

The program can be downloaded via this link:

Feel free to post your thoughts back here.

Best,

Matt

I've been sending that spam in every few days but it doesn't seem to be making a difference. Is it helping or more of an annoyance?

Sent a massive cut and paste job :)

Hi Alex,

Yes - they're still adapting and evolving the program, so all comments would be welcome.

Cheers,

Matt

I had 40 odd spam messages get through in a week. Most of them contained the same stock phrases like:
"Your post is an inspiration for me to study more about this issue. I must concede your lucidity widened my views and I will forthwith snatch your rss feed to remain up to date on any incoming articles you might issue."

I've still got akismet running, so you can see the spam that its stopped but bitdefender has let through. Is it worth forwarding that?

Hi everyone,

We welcome all feedback on this, including details on the spam that might be getting through. The best way is to send it straight to the team developing the plugin - asblog@labs.bitdefender.com

Cheers!

I agree Alex. Considering the amount of spam that's getting through at the moment, I think I prefer the aggressive approach.

Matt - Would it help if we were to forward the spam that's getting through to you?

Hi guys,

Thanks for the feedback - as much detail on any positives or negatives is welcome as we develop the product further!

If you need any further information just let me know.

Cheers,

Matt

Mummyreviews had one get through within 5 minutes of installing the plugin. Akismet seems more aggressive in what it stops from what I've seen so far...

I've found it's not done too well at keeping out the sort of comments where you have to check their email/web address to know it's spam, i.e. the ones that go 'I'll be a frequent reader'.
